Nez Perce County Custody List
The official Nez Perce County inmate records source for current adult jail custody is the Sheriff's Office In Custody page. That page links the current In Custody List PDF. The county does not publish an interactive jail roster with first-name, last-name, booking-date, charge, bond, or housing filters. The public list is a static PDF for adults housed at the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center for criminal offenses.
The county notices are important. The in-custody information should not be relied upon for legal action. Reports are updated Monday through Thursday, with weekends and holidays included on Monday reports. The arrested-and-booked report covers a daily 24-hour period, and the database is updated every 24 hours. Recent bookings, releases, transfers, or bond-outs may not appear online right away, so current status can only be confirmed by phone or in person through the Adult Detention Center.
The official county page below is the roster gateway, not a third-party search form.
The Nez Perce County In Custody page explains the PDF list, the update cycle, juvenile exclusion, and phone confirmation rule.
That source matters because the Nez Perce County inmate records page is limited by the county's own roster format.
Use the Nez Perce County Roster
The safest way to use the Nez Perce County jail roster is to treat it as a starting point, then confirm details through the detention center. The PDF is alphabetical by last name and can be searched with the browser or PDF viewer find tool. That local find function is not a county search field. It is just a way to scan a static list faster.
- Open the sheriff's In Custody page and read the county limitation notice before relying on the data.
- Open the linked In Custody List PDF and use the PDF viewer find tool for a last name.
- If a name appears, write down only the name number and printed name shown on the PDF.
- Call the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center at 208-799-3132 to confirm active custody, release, transfer, or other status.
- If the person is not listed, check whether the case may involve a juvenile, IDOC custody, federal custody, ICE custody, release before the next update, or a record that has not yet posted.
For charge details after a booking, the jail PDF is usually not enough. Formal charges and hearings are handled through the court system, and booking or incident records that are not online go through the sheriff's records request process. For a court-focused path, the separate Nez Perce County court records after jail arrest page explains iCourt and court-copy channels.
Nez Perce County Roster Fields
Because Nez Perce County inmate records are posted as a PDF, the search-field table is short. The county does not offer a form for a visitor to search by first name, booking number, date, charge, or facility. That is the main local difference between this county and many jail roster sites.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| None | n/a | n/a | No public interactive search form is published by the county. |
| PDF browser find | Browser or PDF viewer tool | No | Use Ctrl+F or the viewer's find option to scan the static list by name. |
The lack of search fields also affects how readers should interpret a missing name. A missing name is not proof that the person is free, never booked, or not under another custody system. It may mean the person is a juvenile, has been released, has transferred to IDOC, is in federal or immigration custody, or was booked after the last update.
Nez Perce County Inmate Record Fields
The inspected June 8, 2026 In Custody PDF showed a report title, total count, timestamp, page footer, inmate or name number, and name. It did not show booking profiles. It also did not show the data that many people expect to see on a jail roster, such as mugshots, charges, court dates, bond amounts, physical details, or housing unit. The table below reflects what the official PDF showed, not what other counties may publish.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Total | The count of people listed in the PDF at report time. The inspected PDF showed 127. |
| Inmate/name number | A local identifier printed before the name. The county does not explain it as a booking number. |
| Name | The listed person's name, usually in last-name-first format. |
| Timestamp/footer | The date, time, and page count printed in the PDF footer. |
| Facility | Implied by the source: the Adult Detention Center for adult criminal custody. |
Nez Perce County inmate records on the public PDF do not show a charge code, charge class, number of counts, arresting agency, bond type, total bond, court case number, housing unit, age, date of birth, sex, race, height, weight, release date, detainer, or prior booking history. For booking photos, use the official records request route or the dedicated Nez Perce County jail mugshots page.
Request Nez Perce County Booking Records
When the PDF does not contain the detail needed, the local fallback is the Sheriff's Records Division. The Records Division page says law-enforcement incident report requests start with a public records request form. The form is forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for review and approval, and the county says there is usually a wait of three business days. Requests may be dropped off in person or sent by mail, email, or fax. Released reports can be mailed, emailed, picked up, or faxed back to the requester.

The request form's description box should identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, any known NPC case number, court case number, or name number, and the exact record sought. A booking record, incident report, or booking photo request can be approved, approved with redactions, denied, or forwarded for prosecutor review under Idaho public-records law.
Nez Perce County Records Limits
Idaho's public-records baseline is broad, but law-enforcement records can still be withheld or redacted. Idaho Code 74-102 gives every person the right to examine and copy public records unless another law says otherwise. Idaho Code 74-103 governs response timing and fees for public-records requests. Idaho Code 74-124 covers law-enforcement investigatory record exemptions and is cited on the sheriff request form as a basis for denial or redaction.
Important custody point: The Nez Perce County public PDF is not a full booking file. It is a limited current adult custody list, and the county requires phone or in-person confirmation for status.
Idaho Code 74-124 excludes basic arrest facts from the definition of an investigatory record, including an arrested person's name, incident or arrest time and place, and the crime charged. That does not make every booking file, image, investigative note, witness detail, or officer-safety detail public online. The sheriff's form lists review grounds such as interference with enforcement proceedings, fair-trial concerns, privacy, confidential source protection, investigative techniques, and risk to law-enforcement personnel.
Nez Perce County Inmate Lookup Alternatives
The Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center holds adult county jail custody. It is not the Idaho state prison system, a federal prison, or an ICE locator. After sentencing to state prison, a person may leave the county list and appear in the Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search. IDOC covers incarcerated people, probationers, parolees, and some discharged people under its own record rules. No IDOC prison is listed in Nez Perce County, so a local case can move out of the county after sentencing.
| Custody Type | Official Channel | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Adult county jail | Nez Perce County In Custody PDF and 208-799-3132 | Current adult criminal custody at the county detention center. |
| State prison, probation, parole | IDOC Resident/Client Search | People under Idaho Department of Correction jurisdiction. |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Federal inmates from 1982 to present, with BOP caveats. |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | ICE civil immigration custody, not county jail booking records. |
| Victim notification | Idaho VINE | Custody-status notification for Idaho prisons and jails. |
The IDOC locator has last name, first name, and IDOC number fields. BOP supports number and name searches. ICE uses its own detainee search process. Idaho VINE can send telephone or email messages when a registered offender is released, transferred, or escapes, and the sheriff page lists 866-984-6343 for VINE. None of these tools replaces the Nez Perce County jail phone line for a current adult jail status check.
Nez Perce County Jail Contact Rules
Visitation, mail, and commissary actions should start only after custody has been confirmed. The adult jail's public rules say friends and family use remote video visitation through InmateSales or the InmateSales app or account system. The facility no longer facilitates onsite visitation for friends and family, and detention staff do not schedule visits. The facility search label is `NEZ PERCE ID`.
| Action | Official Path | Key Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Remote video visit | InmateSales account | Available seven days a week, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. |
| Non-legal mail | TextBehind address in Highland Heights, Kentucky | Use inmate name and inmate ID. Nonconforming mail after January 1, 2026 will be rejected. |
| Legal mail | 1150 Wall Street jail address | Legal representation mail uses the jail, not the TextBehind PO box. |
| Commissary funds | Smart Deposit or 1-866-394-0490 | Use the inmate name, Name Number, facility name, and state. |
Mail must include the inmate name, inmate ID, and a return address. Standard mail must be scannable, no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches, and no thicker than light card stock. Cash, checks, currency, packages, books, stamps, blank envelopes, stationery, and many types of decorated or colored items are prohibited. Photos are the only permitted enclosure, up to 10 per package, and must be printed on photo paper.
Note: Confirm the name number with the jail before sending funds or mail, because the PDF may lag behind a transfer or release.
Nez Perce County Juvenile Records
Juvenile custody is separate from the adult Nez Perce County inmate records path. The county states that the adult in-custody list does not include juvenile offenders. Region II Juvenile Detention Center is operated by Nez Perce County Justice Services at 140 10th Street in Lewiston, but it serves youth under 18 under juvenile detention rules and regional agreements. Its public page lists facility facts and contact information, not a public juvenile roster.
The Region II Juvenile Detention Center is a 16-bed maximum-security juvenile detention facility with a roughly 10-resident average daily census listed by the county. It serves Second Judicial District counties, the Nez Perce Tribe, Asotin County, Garfield County, and Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections placements. Do not treat the absence of a juvenile name from the adult PDF as proof of non-custody. Contact the responsible court, agency, or juvenile facility instead.
